FUN-FILLED FISHING DAY
By Andrea von Gunten, Site Manager for Muizenberg East Conservation Cluster
We had a great Fishing Day with about 65 participants. During the day, 38 fish – all Common carp – were caught, which is a drop to almost half of what was caught last year. We want to say a HUGE thank you to all the companies that sponsored prizes for the day. This is always a highlight for us as we get to hand out some awesome prizes and give some exposure to the companies in the Park. We always greatly appreciate the support and the Fishing day would not be a success if it wasn’t for the companies that donate prizes to make it more exciting!
This year’s sponsors were: Absolute Office, Adventure Inc, Daxi Hair, Day to Day, Lorenzo Marx, Mobee Car Wash, MT Chai, Native South Africa, Noongun Beer, PG Foods, Rod Wyly, Sunfactor Labs, The Poleyard, Wazoogles, Whimsical Collection, and Wine of the Month.

PLEASE DO YOUR BIT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Andrea von Gunten, Site Manager for Muizenberg East Conservation Cluster, is appealing to companies in the Park that use polystyrene to collect their polystyrene waste and donate it to GreenLite Insulated Concrete. They use polystyrene to make eco bricks that minimise what we take to landfill. The company’s lightweight concrete blocks are manufactured with GreenLite Concrete that weigh about one-fifth of typical concrete and are produced in sizes that are easy to handle for quick construction. In relation to Capricorn Park’s environmental policy, this is a great way to minimise waste. And, it’s free to donate! For more information, visit greenliteconcrete.co.za
